I’m pleased to present you with our most recent edition of Insight, and give you an update on what’s been happening at Vision Super over the last few months in our continued work to be the best super fund in Australia.

Use our handy projection tool to help you get an idea of how much super you may end up with, how long your super might last and how extra contributions can make a difference to your balance at retirement.

From 1 January 2017, an estimated 300,000 age pensioners will have at least part of their pension cut, and just under 100,000 of these people will lose all entitlements with the Government’s recent changes to the Age Pension asset test thresholds, according to SuperGuide.

Following a number of years of strong returns, the 2015 – 2016 financial year brought a more modest performance, with most member investment options delivering single-digit returns.

We’re involved in the community outside of super too. Each year, we support a number of grass roots events, where we get the opportunity to give back to our members and their local communities.

It is our number one priority to grow and manage your super so you can enjoy a comfortable retirement. We do this by seeking strong risk-adjusted returns, and keeping fees to a minimum.

Since Budget night in May, the proposed superannuation reforms have faced both support and scrutiny by Australians. The Government has amended some of their original reforms and three major changes were announced on 15 September 2016.

Whether you’re planning to retire or retired, preparing and sticking to a budget will help keep more of your money invested and working for you. We take a look at how much super you’ll need in retirement, and help you start a budget to help you make your savings last longer.
